Electrolysis Cost … Ultimate Guide for Electrolysis 2021

Of course all of us wish he/she finds a permanent way to remove hair. How do you feel when you think about permanent results? It feels comfortable, isn’t it? Many people in 2021 like to have more than one choice in order not to feel forced to use only one solution. Moreover, traditional ways are so boring, painful, and time-consuming, and you’re maybe one of those people who are bored, too! But you don’t need to worry, science have a solution for you. This time, it’s Electrolysis! In this article, we’re going to talk more about electrolysis, how it works, its benefits, and how to choose it. Also, we are going to show you the range of electrolysis cost!

First, let me simplify it, we have two kinds of permanent hair removal, light-based (laser hair removal), and electrolysis. You’re going to read everything about the two technologies in this detailed article…

What Is Electrolysis

Electrolysis is another type of permanent hair removal for face and body. It works using electricity which enters each individual hair follicle through a fine sterilized probe. Then, a small amount of electrical energy is discharged via the probe into the hair follicle and damages it.

Electrolysis is suitable for all skins. Moreover, you can experience permanent result after the first treatment.

If you want to treat your excessive hair you should first know what causes unwanted hair to grow. Hair growth is a result of heredity and hormone levels, also some drugs, temporary methods, and illness can estimate the growth of unwanted hair in undesirable areas. Electrolysis may be a suitable solution for unwanted hair on women’s upper lips, bikini line, or chin, and for men’s stomach, or back. It really hurts though. I will let you know how painful it is, electrolysis benefits, how many sessions you need, and electrolysis cost.

Is Electrolysis Painful?

Surely you’re scared of all ways to remove unwanted hair of your body because the pain they may cause. However, the situation is different with electrolysis hair removal! Although it’s less painful than waxing, but it still hurts and causes discomfort.

As I said before, electrolysis treats every single hair follicle to damage it and give you the results you want. You may feel higher discomfort for the first time, this is normal, you’re inserting electricity to the hair follicle! But don’t worry, when you’re used to doing it, pain and discomfort will be minimal.

Anyway, the results of electrolysis may vary from one person to another. However, at the end you will get the results you wish. Also, you don’t spend much time during the session as each treatment session takes 15min-1h.

Is Electrolysis Permanent?

When people say electrolysis gives permanent results they don’t mean the literal meaning of “permanent”. Actually, it gives results that last 6+ months. Electrolysis depends on damaging the hair follicle, which means it cannot re-grow any hair for longer periods. However, individual results vary depending on many factors e.g. personal hormone levels. Also, the re-growing hair will be fewer in number, thinner, and finer.

How To Choose An Electrologist?

You should be careful when choose electrolysis, because the wrong decision may lead to more treatment session and more discomfort. There are some advices for you on this area:

  • Know the professional’s qualifications
  • Ask around, if you know anyone who have ever tried electrolysis, ask her about her experience, or ask for recommendation
  • Get a consultation, most places give you a free consultation. Make sure that all of your questions are answered. You may need to ask questions like, how much it costs, how it feels, how many visits you need, and for how long each session lasts.
  • Make sure the electrologist uses the right technique

Benefits Of Electrolysis

  • Can be used anywhere on the body, including eyebrows
  • Prevents new hair growth for ALL skin and hair types
  • Cheaper than “some” laser hair removal clinics
  • Gives you permanent results for 6+ months
  • Saves money, time, and effort

Electrolysis Cost

Surely the cost depends on the area which is going to be treat and numbers of  follow-ups required. You need to know that there is not real average costs when it comes to electrolysis. While some places may charge $30 for a 30 minute session, other places may charge $110 for an hour. So, it depends more on how large the areas to be treated is! Anyway, our team of experts has estimated the possible average electrolysis cost for around 8 sessions for different areas of the body such as:

  • Average Lip and chin electrolysis cost: $500 to $1000
  • Back electrolysis cost: $9000 to $19000
  • Leg electrolysis cost: $9000 to $19000
  • Bikini line electrolysis cost: $900 to 2000

As you can see, it’s really hard to put an average for electrolysis cost. You need to ask the clinic itself in order to get the precise electrolysis cost.

Laser Hair Removal… What It Is & How It Works?

Laser hair removal is the process of preventing hair regrowth for a long period of time using coherent laser light. The narrow laser beam reaches the hair follicle and damages it. This way, the hair follicle becomes weaker and cannot re-grow hair for 2-6 months. Moreover, it treats hair in a way that makes the re-growing hair thinner, finer, and fewer in number.

Also, laser hair removal doesn’t harm the surrounding skin tissue thanks to it’s narrow, targeted beam. You can use laser hair removal by yourself at-home or in clinics by dermatologists.

Laser hair removal is less painful than other tradition ways like waxing and sugaring, and even less painful than electrolysis. It also saves time and effort unlike shaving. Now, you definitely have questions in your mind including: is laser hair removal painful? You only feel some level of warmth which may cause discomfort during the treatment session. Also, most people who have tried laser hair removal say that they felt like rubber band snapping against their skin. However, all uncomfortable feelings diminish with each following session.

After your laser treatment, you should stay out of the sun for 2 days in order not to get burns. Also, you need not to wax the area which will be treated at least 8 weeks before, but you can shave for 2 days before the session to get effective result faster.

Benefits Of Laser Hair Removal

Laser hair removal has more benefits than nearly all other hair removal methods including electrolysis. The benefits include:

  • Suitable for all skin and hair types. at the past it worked very well with lighter skin and darker hair, but science didn’t stop there, it has been developed to make laser hair removal applicable on all skin types
  • Makes the re-growing hair fewer in number and finer than before
  • Safe, painless treatments
  • Gives permanent result up to 92$ hair reduction for 6+ months
  • Saves time and effort
  • At-home laser hair removal devices cost only $200-$750 and they give results up to 2 months after only 3 treatments such as Philips Lumea Prestige BRI956!

Conclusion

No doubt electrolysis is an effective method for hair removal at less time for longer periods. But it’s so expensive and painful. 1. ‘When people say electrolysis gives permanent results they don’t mean the literal meaning of “permanent”. Actually, it gives results that last 6+ months.’

Not in my experience. I had my all pubic hair removed by electrolysis 30 years ago and none of it has ever grown back. I’m still completely bare. Electrolysis, done correctly, removes 100% of the hair and is extremely permanent.

Laser reduction is much more problematic. 80 to 90% reduction is considered a success, and annual maintenance treatments are required suppress regrowth.

    1. I’m looking to get a treatment similar to yours. If you don’t mind me asking, how much did it cost?

  2. ‘When people say electrolysis gives permanent results they don’t mean the literal meaning of “permanent”. Actually, it gives results that last 6+ months.’

This statement is completely false. The hair will never regrow from a correctly treated follicle. New hair can grow form follicles that were not active or treated due to hormonal changes.
